Taqueria las Palmas Food Truck

Food Trucks

On the west side of Greenville, along the White Horse Road stretch, Taqueria las Palmas has built a name as the taco truck to beat. The tacos are the draw: fresh tortillas, well-seasoned meat, and a salsa with real heat that reviewers keep pointing to. The al pastor is the standout people mention most, and the nachos supreme get their own nod. There is a nice surprise for a taco truck here, too, a screened-in porch with a fan, so you can sit and eat instead of eating off the hood of your car. It also runs late, open past midnight every day, which makes it one of the few real late-night options on that side of town. Reviewers consistently put it ahead of the other taco trucks around, for food that comes out fresh and properly cooked with service that stays friendly. First time, get the al pastor.

Don Chile Fast Mexican Food

Food Trucks

Don Chile is the kind of taco truck people around here name-drop when someone asks where to find the real thing. Parked on Cedar Lane Road in Greenville, it turns out street tacos the way most of us wish every taqueria did. Asada, pollo, tripa, lengua, and the cabeza the die-hards swear by, all built fast and priced more like a snack than a sit-down meal. Beyond the tacos there are tortas, burritos, quesadillas, campechanos, and the Alambre Especial that regulars keep steering new folks toward. Portions run generous for what you pay, and the kitchen stays open late, past midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, which makes it one of the few solid options once the after-dark cravings hit. The reputation is loud and specific. Regulars call it some of the best tacos in the county, and more than a few will tell you they drive in from as far as Asheville just to eat here. The fun part is sorting out your own order, whether that turns out to be the alambre, a torta de asada, or the cabeza the truck is quietly known for.

The Kingston Nachos are the dish that put One Love on the map: Jamaican jerk chicken piled over loaded nachos, the plate that took first place at Fall for Greenville in 2017. The Hawaiian Stack, a grilled BBQ pulled pork sandwich, won the same festival the following year, and both are still on the menu. Those are the calling cards, but the cooking ranges wide, pulling Caribbean, Latin, and Southern flavors onto the same plate. You will find loaded nachos, yellow rice bowls, taco triplets, and grilled Stacks on Texas toast, tied together with house sauces like the Sunset Sauce and Jerkziki. The vegetarian and vegan lineup is unusually deep for a food truck, with coconut-glazed tofu, barbecue jackfruit, and plant-based versions of most of the meat dishes. One Love has run since 2016 and bills itself as the longest-running food truck in the Upstate. It is family-owned and works public and private events around Simpsonville and the wider Upstate, closing in on a decade of catching people at festivals and pop-ups.
