Dumont Creamery & Cafe - Greenville
Dumont is a locally owned creamery first, and the pull is a case of handcrafted ice cream that runs well past vanilla and chocolate. Next to the classics sit genuinely unusual scoops, from Hokey Pokey, a New Zealand style vanilla laced with caramel toffee, to Cake and Jam, Kheer, and Mascarpone Raspberry. A tasting flight is the easy way to sample several at once, and reviewers point to it as the move on a first visit. The cafe side holds its own. The bar turns out specialty drinks like a strawberry matcha latte and a date cardamom latte, a long run of bubble teas from taro to white peach green milk tea, and coffee brewed from shade grown Karafa beans. Much of the tea menu comes in dairy or non dairy versions, so the inventive flavors stay open to people skipping milk. The room is set up for lingering rather than a quick grab and go. Visitors describe comfortable padded seating, a couple of living room style corners, and board games left out on the tables, which makes it an easy landing spot with kids or a group. Parking is on site, just off the busy Woodruff Road retail strip.

Bottles Beverage Superstore
Bottles is the big-format bottle shop anchoring Milestone Village off Pelham, and the "superstore" name isn't just marketing. It's built for range: thousands of wines, a spirits wall that runs from everyday pours to rare bourbons and whiskeys, and a beer selection that spans imports, domestics, and local Upstate and Carolina craft. What sets it apart from a standard liquor store is the 32-tap station up front. You can fill growlers and crowlers there, or grab a beer or a pour of wine by the glass while you shop. It's a homegrown South Carolina company with hospitality roots, and that shows in the regular tastings and in staff who actually walk you through what's new. One local quirk worth knowing: state law means no delivery, but you can build your order online and simply pick up and pay in the store. More than the shelves, regulars come back for the people behind the counter, the ones who'll nudge you off your usual toward something you didn't know you wanted. Which pick lands is the sort of thing you only sort out by asking whoever's working what they're into this week.

Bridge City Coffee
Along the Wade Hampton corridor in Greenville, this is the flagship that started it all for Bridge City, the spot where the company first roasted its own beans and opened a specialty coffee drive-thru. The expanded seating room has become a place people settle into for a while, with quotes carved into the handmade tables and a poem one of the founders wrote and painted onto the wall. Coffee is roasted in-house rather than bought in, which is really the whole point here. Alongside the espresso menu and rotating seasonal drinks, there are bags of single origins and blends to take home, and retail orders ship the same week the beans come off the roast. A small food and pastry side rounds it out. What makes the shop different is built into how it runs. Bridge City hired its earliest team members through a partner non-profit and frames itself around building value in the people who come through the door, not just selling coffee. Reviewers keep returning to two things: coffee they rate among the best in the Upstate, and baristas who stay warm even on a slow, rough morning. The short version if you go: serious specialty coffee in a room that is easy to linger in, run by people who clearly want you there.

SOCIETY Sandwich Bar & Social Club
Two floors and two full bars, on Coffee Street just off Main, tell you what SOCIETY is really after. It calls itself a sandwich bar and a social club, and both halves hold up: the kitchen and the bars run until 2 a.m. every day, so a weekday lunch here has a way of turning into happy hour and then into something later in the night. The menu pairs gourmet sandwiches with ramen and a real cocktail program, a mix you do not run into often around the Upstate. The sandwiches cover plenty of ground, from the Hot Chick to Philly cheesesteak and Italian beef, and the ramen bowls hold their own beside them. Starters get as much attention as the mains, the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls in particular. What people mention most is the whole feel of the place: generous plates, bartenders and servers who actually talk to you, and a room that stays social well into the night. First time in, the Hot Chick Ramen is the bowl regulars tend to steer newcomers toward.
