Carolina MD Acupuncture brings medical acupuncture to Easley through a physician acupuncturist. Dr. Henry Yu is a board-certified physician who has practiced full-time in South Carolina since 2002. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and a Nephrology fellowship at Vanderbilt University, and he is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
The practice holds that Eastern and Western medicine each have their place, and it works to complement the care patients already get from their own health care team. A first visit can run an hour and a half to two hours, with time to review records, hear the patient's story, and do a physical exam before treatment is planned. Medical questions are discussed directly with Dr. Yu. The practice does not accept insurance, and it keeps some after-hours and weekend availability.
